    Once more we celebrate the 29th November 1952 when MUDELE'S BLUE ROOM first opened it's doors on Garrick Street.
    Joe's Group played every Monday, Friday and Saturday evenings to packed Houses - until eventually the
    Club was taken over by the owner of Studio 51.
    In the late 40s Joe also played in the Dankworth Seven.

    Hence - before Joe died on 7th March 2014 he and Colin talked about setting up this evening at Bexley
    to commemorate the event. Colin has done so - and it will now be performed regularly in loving memory of JOE MUDELE who played double bass at this Club for over 20 years - subsequently taking on the running and organisation of the Club 16 years ago - together with his wife, Jan - who makes certain that Bexley Jazz Club remains one of the best in the country.

    As always - Colin will lead - having made all of the Arrangements for the following superb line-up.

    Brandon Allen has been a huge fan of Gene Ammons since first discovering Jazz some 25 years ago.
    Ammons was one of the founders of the Chicago style of tenor saxophone playing and forged a lasting partnership with Sonny Stitt - recording some classic tenor battles in the 1950s.
    In spite of two "intervals" in his career in 1969 Ammons was offered what was the largest contract ever offered at that time by Prestige.
    This Project focuses on music spanning Gene Ammons' entire career from1943 to 1974.
