GREG ABATE - from the U.S. - is with us once more - a BEBOPPER pure and simple ; one who brings passion and a lovely melodic tone to his playing.
GREG ABATE is a man who has built a career as a powerhouse reed man and a proponent of the mainstream bebop style - earning him the nickname of " The Prince of Bop".
He is a multi instrumentalist - equally at home on alto, tenor, soprano, baritone, flute - think Charlie Parker , Phil Woods.
From an album recorded with Phil Woods - Greg will, this evening, include in his programme - for me -
the very lovely WILLOW WEEP FOR ME.
