Multi-instrumentalist SIMON BATES is recognised
as one of the country's leading saxophonists.
PETE WHITTAKER is a jazz organist and piano player
who brings his extensive experience to the quartet.
HARRY GREEN is an in-demand guitarist and saxophonist,
composer and educator, he plays in a range of styles.
ELLIOTT HENSHAW is a drummer, composer and educator,
also a respected session musician on many albums.

'SHADES OF SHEARING'
NICK TOMALIN performs the music of British pianist
George Shearing with an accurate revival of many well
known tunes. The quintet recreates the original
arrangements with guitar and vibraphone bringing a
return of the 'Shearing Sound'.
Playing with Nick, is NAT STEELE on vibes, DAVE
WARREN on guitar, DOMINIC HOWLES on bass and
MATT FISHWICK on drums.

STEVE WATERMAN is one of the top British jazz trumpet
players both at home and on the international scene.
He began his career while studying at Trinity College
of Music, and since then has worked regularly on the
British, European and International jazz scene.
Tonight he brings his Latin quartet with the rhythms
of MARC CECIL on drums, ALEX HUTTON on piano,
and ROB STATHAM on bass.

MICK FOSTER is a saxophonist, woodwind player and composer, recognised as one of the UK’s foremost exponents of the baritone saxophone. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and has worked extensively in the fields of jazz, commercial and classical music.
KAREN SHARP is well known and admired for her full-toned melodic saxophone playing, winning the British Jazz Awards for best tenor saxophonist on numerous occasions.
Mick and Karen bring with them ROB BARRON on piano, ADAM KING on bass and JOSH MORRISON on drums.

ALEX GARNETT has been one of the leading
saxophonists in the UK and Mainland Europe
for over two decades. Recognized by his dark
husky sound and as a versatile musician, he has
enjoyed success as a jazz artist, composer
and arranger, with countless recording credits
along the way. He brings with him a talented trio,
ALEX BRYSON on piano, ADAM KING on bass
and MATT HOME on drums.

ALAN BARNES is a prolific international multi-talented
performer, renowned for his musicianship on clarinet,
alto and baritone sax. He combines a formidable virtuosity
with a musical expression and a collaborative spirit.
ROBERT FOWLER has a reputation as a broad-toned,
swinging tenor player having worked with many different bands.
His style has been influenced by some of the greats
of classic jazz. Tonight they play with John Pearce on piano,
Andy Cleyndert on bass and Matt Home on drums.

on baritone sax, the quintet's repertoire is based
on that of the Gerry Mulligan & Bob Brookmeyer
quartet, and is augmented with a full rhythm
section comprising three of the UK's
top jazz musicians. JOHN HORLER piano,
TIM WELLS bass and BOBBY WORTH drums.

exciting solos and melodic interplay

American born ALLISON NEALE plays alto sax, evoking the spirit of Paul Desmond and Art Pepper with whom she has a particular affinity.
As a strong advocate of the melodic West Coast style she has performed alongside many leading international artists such as Adelaide Hall and Bud Shank, and more recently tenorist Scott Hamilton. She frequently tours the UK with her current Quartet.

ALEX GARNETT has been one of the leading saxophonists

enjoyed success as both a jazz artist, composer
and arranger, and as an in demand session, studio and
commercial saxophonist, having racked up countless
recording credits along the way.

Violinist and guitarist MIKE PIGGOTT brings his
Hot Club quartet to Bexley with a confident
swinging violin in the style of Stephan
Grappelli, plus numerous other influences.
Over the years he has played with many great
musicians and brings his experience with him.

A warm, engaging and soulful performer, SHIREEN FRANCIS
has developed her own unique blend of jazz with flavours of
gospel, blues and jazz standards. Performing with some of the
country’s top jazz musicians, the combination of Shireen’s
stunning expressive voice coupled with her innate
musicianship has delighted audiences all around the world.

Bassist ANDY CLEYNDERT was well versed with classical
music but quickly became attracted to jazz rythms. Later
influences were Bobby Wellins, Ronnie Scott & Stan Tracey
ANDY PANAYI is a gifted flute and saxophone player skilled
in performing live, arranging and composing. He has
worked with many great jazz singers and performed
with Freddie Hubbard, Phil Woods and Wynston Marsalis.
TIM LAPTHORN is another gifted musician whose bluesy
flowing lyrical sound sets him apart from other pianists.
