GREG ABATE - from the United States - is back with us once more - a Bebopper pure and simple. One who brings passion and a lovely melodic tone to his playing.
GREG ABATE is a man who has built a career as a powerhouse reed man and a proponent of the mainstream bebop style - earning the nickname "The Prince of Bop". He is a multi instrumentalist - equally at home on alto, tenor, soprano, baritone, flute........think Charlie Parker, Phil Woods. From an album recorded with Phil Woods - Greg will include in his programme this evening the very lovely WILLOW WEEP FOR ME.
Greg will be supported this evening by the superb CRAIG MILVERTON/keys - ADAM KING/double bass and NICK MILLWARD, drums.
