ALAN BARNES QUARTET

There is only one ALAN BARNES who, over the years, has won more awards and accolades than can be listed here - but perhaps the most prestigious of which must be the BBC Jazz Instrumentalists Awards 2001, 2006 and 2010 in 3 categories - Clarinet, Alto, Baritone - not, of course, forgetting the Fellowship of the Leeds College of Music awarded in 2003.
Alan is a superb musician and key figure on the British jazz scene - but let us not forget his other great achievement - which is the huge respect and affection in which he's held both by his fans and fellow musicians.

Alan will be backed this evening by JOHN PEARCE/keys - part of the Scott Hamilton Quartet since 2000 and said to be "one of Britain's best kept secrets" : SIMON THORPE, bass and BOBBY WORTH, drums.
