SIMON SPILLETT, with his total commitment to a driving, energetic and hard swing style is one of our finest saxophonists providing, always, exhilarating listening.

VIC ASH - Tenor & Clarinet - began his career in 1951, together with Tubby Hayes, when they joined Kenny Baker's band. He has worked with most popular musicians & entertainers - Fred Astaire, Tony Bennett, Ella, Sarah Vaughan, Ray Charles, George Shearing etc etc and, for more than 20 years with "Old Blue Eyes" himself.
Vic was the first musician in Britain to play Clarinet in a modern jazz context.
He was the first white man to play with Ray Charles in '63
He was part of the first British band to play the legendary Birdland in New York ....... and now
He is making is first appeareance at Bexley Jazz Club !

This evening Simon and Vic will be supported by Ted Beament/keyboards, Joe Mudele/bass, Matt Skelton/drums.
