DAVE O'HIGGINS QUARTET
DAVE O'HIGGINS - Saxophonist, Composer, Educator and Producer says that he is busier than ever trying to spread the message of jazz and the essence of the great African - American tradition - Swing, Blues, Harmony and Improvisation. Long may this tradition remain vital and alive.
In 1992 Dave played with Sinatra at The Albert Hall - Sinatra's last appearance in the UK - I remember it so well - what an evening ! - again, in 1996 he recorded and toured with Ray Charles.
SIMON WALLACE - Accompanies Dave this evening. As Composer, Pianist and Musical Director Simon has, over the years, written and produced music for Shows such as Absolutely Fabulous, French & Saunders, Rub Wax etc etc. In contrast, he has written a 5 Movement Symphony for the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra.
This evening's rhythmn section is completed with Davide Mantovani on bass and Rod Brown on drums.
